English 11
In English 11, students learn about:​

Composition 11 - understand how people see text differently based on their perspective and background and how text is constructed from its geographical, cultural, and historical history. Students also exercise on asking questions on their surroundings, for instance what they hear and see.

Creative writing 11 - learn how the English language greatly influences people who speak it. It has a major impact on their thoughts and opinions. Students are expected to know how to observe the world and write for authentic audiences and real-world matters.

Literary studies 11 - explore reflecting and questioning, and how it contributes to education. Also learn about how personal choices and writing styles impacts the audience and creates a difference between the student and others with their writing.

News Media 11 - learn how digital citizenship needs knowledge on the impact of technology on society, and the risks on being online.

Spoken Language 11 - students are expected to know that their voices matter and are impactful. This topic focuses on how the exploration of English text helps students improve their understanding on diversity, opinions, and the world (how the world speaks).

English First Peoples 11
In English First Peoples 10, students learn about:

Literary Studies and News Media 11 - learn how news media effects society's understanding of real-world events (find out reliability, sources, timelines, and more). Also, this topic learns about First Peoples Reconciliation (reconciliation is to build respectful relationships between people and the First Peoples).

Literary Studies and Spoken Language- analyze First Peoples text (and their stories) about their past, oral traditions, and how their cultures and diversity had shaped the traditions we know today.

Literary Studies and Writing 11 - explore the variety of text related to Canada​'s First Peoples stories that impact people in the past, present and future. Also, students are expected to understand how First Peoples culture can greatly influence other cultures around them.
